When brands need mystery shopping or audit services, we contact independent contractors registered with Confero.
Step 1 | Register
Sign up as an independent contractor with Confero.
Provide your contact information, read and accept the Independent Contractor Agreement, and answer a few questions to help match you with shops you’ll enjoy.
To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and use a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access
Step 2 | Download Apps (Optional)
Expand your reach.
Several mystery shopping apps list open evaluations from many companies.
Using them can help you discover additional opportunities — including those available through Confero.
Step 3 | Check the Job Board
Browse the current shops available in your area.
Click any listing to review details, see what the client needs, and apply for assignments that fit your schedule.
New opportunities post as they arise, so check back often and enable email alerts in your profile to stay notified.
Step 4 | Prepare for Your Assignment
Before you begin, review the client’s specs and guidelines carefully.
Understanding expectations helps ensure accurate results and smooth approval of your report.
Step 5 | Conduct the Evaluation
Complete your mystery shop, audit, or evaluation —
in person, online, or by phone, depending on the project type.
Observe, take notes, and follow the instructions provided.
Step 6 | Submit Your Report
Upload your completed report, receipts, and any required photos through the shopper portal.
Check your registered email daily in case an editor needs clarification before final approval.
Step 7 | Get Paid
Payment details are confirmed before you accept
each assignment.
If purchases are required, reimbursement amounts are
clearly listed and processed through Confero once your report is approved.

Payment Policy & PayPal
Payment terms are detailed in the Independent Contractor Agreement, which you’ll review and accept before your account can be activated to perform services for Confero clients.
Payments are made via PayPal according to the Payment Policy.
Independent Contractor Agreement
The ICA must be reviewed and accepted before you can provide services for Confero clients.
New shoppers will see the ICA during registration.
If you’re already registered and your agreement is out of date, log in to your Extended Shopper Profile to review and accept the latest version.
